SOURCES IN THE CHILEAN CURRICULUM FRAMEWORK (NM)
From the four sources of the Chillean curriculum, I will keep on focusing on the psychological source of it, but this time concerning to high school level , which in Chile we call "N.M."
Psychological source is fundamental to know "what, how and when to teach", according to variables that interfere in the process of teaching-learning. Therefore psychological characteristics of the evolutive development of the students are strictly important, that is to say; their capacities, interests, relationships stablished during the educative process and the fundamental elements of the process of learning.
Is for these reasons that the psychological source of the curriculum is one of the most important of them because the time of evolutive development must be considered in each level of the student´s growth.
*(1) The curricular selection of the framework of the OF-CMO of high school level (NM) agree to the following criteria and orientations according to the knowledge and learning:
*(2) "Actualization of the curriculum, according to the observed advances in the fields of knowledge and in the changes occured in social life and the incorporation of new fields of the knowledge and abilities as the case of Technology and Informatics".
The new appearance of subsectors in the NM curriculum as science, arts, technology, etc. are clearly showing that the psychological source has the pourpose of make known to students and discover different contents of historical events, scientific knowledge, practices of design and realization of investigations and varied projects.
Finally; I think that the psychological source of the curriculum is one of the most important (out of the 5) , because it moves with the new times and it is adaptable to the real interets and capacities of the students, especially during the last step of their formal education before chosing what will they do after leaving high school.
